The progress of any nation can be judged from the involvement of the women in public affairs and the freedom they enjoy in the society. India has a long way to go in this respect. Convinced of this fact our Institution has taken a daring leap towards empowerment of women. I am proud to say that we provide non-traditional training to school drop out women. People with women empowerment priority in their plans will find DBSERI an ideal set up to collaborate with. In fact we are on the look out for organisation with expertise and means.
Looking back we notice the remarkable achievements of the past 15 years. The dedicated work of the Staff and their good will has been one of the sources of strength. The co-operation we received from our Government was encouraging.
Our benefactors have been the real lifeline for this Institution. Generous contributions both from India and Overseas gave us the real strength and courage to forge ahead. They stood by us from the very inception. Their continual help is a sign of the love and care of Divine Providence for us.
At Don Bosco SERI, our aim is not only to teach and train the under privileged youth but also to make them responsible citizens and rehabilitate them in society with a steady income. In other words many of the boys and girls who learn a trade, go out of the Institute and with the help of some financial institutions and Banks associated with DBSERI they set up a work shop of their own trade that they have been trained in and then employ a couple of unemployed people. This synergy is essential today for a better society tomorrow.
Benefactors and friends of DBSERI may be interested in knowing the progress of the expansion programme and the New building of the Institute. Therefore we have included a photo gallery in the website. We shall be updating these pictures regularly. We plan to inaugurate the new wing in the month of May 2000. I take this opportunity to thank all those who are responsible for these great accomplishments over the past years of our existence and success of DBSERI.
